One going round here has had a single headlight and that’s it, no rears or indicators for a good while now.

Transit tippers were a thief magnet back in the days of smiley faced transits , I had a couple stolen , seems these days they nick higher end German cars for parts .
I started to use Nissan cabstar tippers instead , narrower , cheaper and less desirable to the people who keep moving home !

The company I was working for bought a big Transit van for general duties.
The steering had a massive shake / rattle/ and roll problems.
Ford were not able to fix this and the company went to the after market for a fix and they couldn't fix it.
It was tolerated the whole time they owned it.
The lights worked perfectly so well done Ford.

We have quite a lot of tippers on fleet and rear lights have often been an issue, more due to the poor design, wires running down a chassis into a unit that lets in water. They are also placed so they suffer from shock and are the first thing to get hit when reversing, loading etc.
They are also a tool to do a job, like a cement mixer most users rarely car about them.

I’ve always wondered why the owners don’t chop the wiring up, insert it into a hose pipe for protection and then a simple pair of e marked led trailer lights with built in reflectors for £20They are also a tool to do a job, like a cement mixer most users rarely car about them.
Well I know why they don’t do it as they all seem to be thick as mince scumbags!
Always see the fly tipping types with limited lights, if I was upto no good I’d try to give the plod as few excuses to pull me as possible
