Particularly during this winter lockdown, with nights being cold, wet and dark and everything being closed, every evening can be like groundhog day. Finish work and make food and sit in font of the TV, because there's bugger all else to do. Even Friday/Saturday night are the same.

What are you doing to break the monotony of this?

Get a hobby, there's plenty of fun stuff you can do from home.

Well we spent a pleasant evening last week watching Groundhog Day biggrin

We've been doing a few pub quizzes with mates on Zoom, and the occasional games night using Board Game Arena.

ETA: and a lot of time playing Factorio at the moment.

PS4 - just getting into The Last of Us Part II having completed the original last week. Genuinely brilliant storyline and gameplay which I hope they turn into a movie.

Also, as above, at least once a week I visit a friend for drinks/dinner which helps significantly.

I started playing Squad. (fps milsim game)

Its about 50 times more involved than COD and you can do many different things in the game besides shooting at people.

There isn't really any ranks or ways to unlock guns, you just get on with it.

I have tried being a squad leader a few times now and its actually really challenging telling 8 other people what to do and where to go etc whilst command and the other squad leaders are asking you to do stuff.

Its no AAA title but its like a low rent version of Arma but with more teamwork and actually has a pretty good community spirit.

This was part the reason why my Fri night, Sat, Sun drinking increased. I don't touch a drop Mon-Thu but it was the only way I could distinguish between the week and the weekend at time.

Had a month off now and kind of reset my brain a bit so not always (unless a crap day) craving a beer straight after work on a Friday night.

The mindless killing on Rage 2 is helping a bit also!

Put the bins out once a week.

Bring the bins back in once a week.

How time flies!

5pm-6.30pm prepare and eat dinner.

6.30pm-8pm Rainbow Six Siege, killing spotty teenagers

8pm-10pm TV with Mrs Puggit.

Thank god for weekends, football, 6 Nations. Like others, trying to keep alcohol out of the working week, but it's so tempting to spin up a margarita or open a bottle of wine. I'm not at all good with my hands, but there's plenty I'd like to to in the garden or house hehe

I put ours out last night and can hear the recycling people clattering about with the bottles now...might go and watch as it's the most exciting thing that happens on our street at the moment!

Most evenings its drinks over the garden fence with the neighbours followed by dinner then either TV or a few hours playing Factorio and, in the last few weeks, Prison Architect.

Been pretty much the same since last March to be honest.

I’ve been climbing into the bed in the spare room in the evenings, under the pretext that the WiFi connection is better there while watching football. To an extent this is true, but for the most part I like it because it feels like I’ve gone away somewhere.

Either at home, at work or at my parents house. Not too bad as I'm busy at either of the locations I'm at.

This lockdown has really been crap compared to the other mainly because of the weather.

I have some decent lights so do go out on my mountain bike in the evenings weather dependent.

Bought a cheap wheel/pedals plus stand for my son's Xbox and have been playing Forza which, while I am crap, I've really enjoyed.
Son goes on, wins loads of cash and I spend it on cars and do them up.

Have a lovely MK2 GTI with 4WD and 600bhp

A Fulvia with all the rally kit and paintwork and a Quattro Sport which I can't drive in a straight line smile

We have just got Sky sports so watch footy and basketball.

Watching various series on Netflix.

Helps that we have a dog so take her out in the morning, at lunch and in the evening.

Change your outlook from 'this is monotonous' to hey look at all this time I have what shall I do? Time is something you can never get back, and is usually difficult to generate free time so if you have free time you are very lucky.

Just because you are stuck in the house doesn't mean it should be difficult to do anything - you just need more focus. Me? I play pool, watch films, cook, tidy, DIY, play games, I'm doing OU masters, I'm learning to Lino print, I play music, I walk dogs, watch boxsets, talk to partner (yes at end of list biggrin) I workout, I read. Using my time isn't a problem, find what works for you and enjoy this period.
