UFO Sighting...

Anyone else see this tonight??

Around 1840 tonight, 22/02/20 I was in North Yorkshire, near the A 63 Monk Fryston, unloading my car, when I saw three very, very bright lights in the sky, to the right side of the plough formation, at an incredible height...

They were in a Vic formation, in other words a 'V' with the point of the V aiming towards the base of the 'big dipper' bowl/cup...

Then, at the same time, they all simultaneously lost their brightness and disappeared... All within about 20 to 30 seconds... Almost as if a mist was flowing over them; only thing was, the other stars around them, still remained visible...

I downloaded an app for locating the stellar formations, and nothing at all was in the same area as these lights... Nothing...


They were not Helos, jets, Chinese lanterns or anything else of a similar nature.... And no, I had not had a beer or three; I'd just arrived back from south Wales...

Anyone else spot them??

Looking around that time it appears there was a Sikorsky S-92A heading north-eastish toward the Humber, that combined with the fact that you're not far from the M62 and the area around there is a little marshy leads me to believe that what you actually saw was swamp gas from a nearby field of sheep, that became trapped in a thermal pocket and was reflecting the light from Venus.

Something happened to me last Thursday when I was driving home. I had a couple of miles to go. I looked up and saw a glowing orange object in the sky, to the east.

It was moving very irregularly... suddenly there was intense light all around me - and when I came to, I was home. What do you think happened to me?

I was checking out FR earlier this evening and quite a decent numbers of Typhoons were flying in close formation with a tanker around Hull/Brid

But am sure you saw Martians

BTW I like how the Typhoons were called Typhoo, Vandal, Wolf and something I've forgotten

Through the Summer I've been following this guy on Twitter as he posts when the Space Station and Starlink satellites are going over.

If you stand and watch the skies on a clear night, you're pretty much guaranteed to see things going over.

I've yet to see a daisy chain of Starlink satellites that are all in a row, having just been released, but I've seen a few together.

I'm a professional pilot of some 29 years of flying for a living and the starlink formations have been the most incredible and noticeable lights in the sky I've ever seen.

Interesting replies... Along with stupid ones...


These were extremely bright, and very white, and appeared to be stationary in relation to the other star formations... They were not moving across the sky... well, not enough for the naked eye to observe..

Strange thing was, the lights just dimmed and vanished... I would have thought they were a considerable distance away from each other, bearing in mind the height above the ground they appeared to be at...


No visible aircraft, silent, no jet noise, definitely not a trio of helos and they were one above the other...


Weird...
