Is there a marked difference in pay [not enquiring specifics of how much you earn] in what type of security you're in.
Always wonder, as the security in the swanky high rise glass fronted offices on the face of it appear to have very little to do, sit on a chair, leisurely walk around every so often. It was the same during university, the 24hr library would have security guards from about 7pm onwards, who again, seemed to have little more to do much more than sit.
Whereas if you are security guard for the local Tesco Express or Sports Direct etc. you are in much more immediate or likely 'danger' of having to actually spring in to action or deal with unsavoury characters trying to have a go etc.

Yeah. The more corporate you go, the better the pay. Office work etc and you'll be on around £2 an hour more than the retail guys. It makes the team smaller and easier to manage. I was on monday to friday 7am to 3pm but got changed last year to 5.30am to 5.30pm with four days on then four days off. Unless you want to, the days of doing 60 odd hours a week are pretty much gone. SteBrown91 said:

Nope! I go to work in my civvy car and go home in my civvy car. There's nothing worse than working "Walts".
