... minding my own business in the garden this morning.... scruffy looking car pulls onto the entrance to the drive. Scruffy looking guy gets out with badges on lanyards swinging away & some sort of device in his hand. Assumed it was the Amazon delivery guy as I was waiting for a delivery.

“I’m from Quaranatine Enforcement & I’m looking for GT03ROB”
“That’s me”
“Please prove your identify”

Which I do....

“Are you isolating?”

At which point I decided “I’m on my own property what the fk does it look like” whilst being an appropriate response would not serve my best interests.

So this is what it;s all come to, I have to justify what I’m doing on my own property.

Thankfully he turned up before the local opened!

There is obviously more to it than that, so why don't you tell us the story?

Because our great government has contracted one of their mates companies, to go around asking in the interests of preventing the spread of CV19. And the response of fk off involves them calling plod.

Not a bad idea though to check up people are actually isolating/quarantining? Mind you I've done it 4 times in the last year because of work and haven't had anyone come to check up. Have you upset your neighbours?

What uniform did they have on and what ID did they provide you, or was this police?

Were they asking if/how you were isolating from others on your land, or more of a query on if you are keeping yourself to yourself or our and about publicly when possibly contagious to the rest of society?

Would someone else know you should be isolating, but have not?

Where are you? and as said - it's a good idea isn't it to ensure people are obeying the rules?

No Uk at present, my freedoms are greater in the FSU.

My point is that the idea a year or so ago people could turn up on your doorstep, require you to prove your identity, then require you to confirm you are not breaking the law, kind of shows how far things have come.

To be fair, you could have had the idea a year ago and we still wouldn't have believed your story.

FSU? Florida State University? The point being, that if in the UK you sign a declaration and agree that you will quarantine/isolate. Not a bad idea having someone check if you are doing that, especially if you get reports they aren't.

So who did you upset?
