Following on from my other thread. Does anyone know anyone that works for the HSE or any connections to them?!

I have just received this -

“You recently contacted the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) with concerns about work being carried out at ************.

We have carefully reviewed the information you provided and concluded that on this occasion, we will not follow-up this matter. The reason is the matters you have raised occurred some time ago and you are no longer employed by the Duty Holder.

For HSE to consider the matter further, we would require recent evidence that the concern to which you refer is still an ongoing issue. i.e. that there is a current risk to health and safety from an employee affected by the issues on site.

Please ask the persons affected to complete our Concerns form and we will reassess.”


I’m amazed!!! I am no longer employed by the duty holder as he terminated my contract because I didn’t follow his procedures apparently, problem being.... he doesn’t have any procedures! Or not that I have ever seen.
He was unable to produce any risk assessments, training records or loading/unloading procedures to the HSEQ manger of the site the accident occurred at. The site also has another member of staff driving the HGV away from the accident in CCTV and have since found out he doesn’t have a HGV license!

I have asked him for a copy of said procedures and he’s basically just told me to fcku off. He will no longer answer the phone to me or reply to any emails.

I worked for the firm for around 8 weeks, I was constantly promised training that never materialised, I realised quickly what a dodgy outfit it was. They have since stopped paying me and I’m up shti creek now financially and it seems he’s just carrying on trading and got away with it all.

I also reported him to the DVSA, they said the HGV wasn’t registered to the business, I’m assuming to avoid its legal 6 weekly checks! I don’t think they’ve done anything as of yet either.

The firm is forging LOLER certificates for all the powered access equipment it hires.

The accident site have put a RIDDOR report in, I have requested this from the HSE but the firm I was working for hasn’t even reported it!

I just can’t believe they are just going to be able to carry on until another accident occurs when I’m looking at a massive amount of time of work with zero income. It won’t be long till a fatality happens.

Maybe write to your MP? Detail everything you have done etc. I’ve only wrote to my MP once and I received a response very quick.

It might just be enough for them to put pressure on the relevant bodies involved.

Absolutely MP.

I cannot believe you've had that response, the timing was weeks, not years - and the lack of RIDDOR report is an instant breach.

I can only assume they've transposed a number wrong in the year...
