No, he is still with us!
Those of a certain age will remember when he was Britain’s best heavyweight boxer, and a familiar TV personality, know what I mean, ‘Arry?
Don’t see that much of him now.
Remember listening on the radio to his Tyson fight, and the excitement of the commentator when Bruno momentarily stunned Tyson (before being demolished by him).
Watched his Lennox Lewis fight on You Tube, with his ‘nice guy’ persona I forgot how good a boxer he was. He was beating Lennox with better boxing, until he took a brutal left hook to the jaw. The punishment that Lennox then inflicted on the suddenly defenceless Bruno was brutal in the extreme, thank goodness it was stopped.
I think he deserves more than an MBE.

As a teenager at the time I remember this incredibly well and leaping around the bedroom shouting at the radio when he wobbled Tyson.. It was one of those rare exciting events that has become legendary in sporting circles....
He's a regular in one of our locals. Still very much Frank but slightly less of him these days. I reckon I could take him (though I best not test theory).
My MiL used to run Children's Society shops and my daughter got to meet him 1996 when he opened one in Brentwood. We recently reunited them:

king love him, what a great personality. An actual national treasure.I remember watching an interview once, and he said he once bought five top of the range disabled buggy's at £5,000 each and lined them all up neatly on the carpet in front of his fireplace.
When the interviewer (Can't remember who it was) said "What did you do that for?".....he replied "I have no idea"
Thankfully, he seems to be reasonably OK now.

He is an MBE already.
I used to have photo in my spare room of him, me and my wife which was taken at an after dinner thing he did years ago, but in the home working shake up of our home office it got moved and my wife won't tell me where she put it (she said she looked ugly in it... I don't understand how she could next to me and him).

Yes the Sky documentary was good for nostalgia. It didn't delve into his personal problems since quitting the limelight however.

Bruno wasn't a great heavyweight by any measure. He was slow.
Seems like a very nice guy though
A few years ago I was having a fling with a nurse. Turns out she was a psychiatric nurse and Bruno was a sometime patient at her facility. She didn't have a bad word to say him. They all adored him. He brought the staff little presents and knew everyones name. Hopefully he's beaten his demons.
