Which Newspaper do you read?

Standing outside the village shop the other day and you can tell a lot about someone by looking at which newspaper they buy:

I'll start Daily Telegraph, FT Weekend.

Don't think I've bought a newspaper for 20 years. Used to read the FT (for work) and nick my mates Sun newspaper for the sports section.

Don’t buy any but read the DM online and the Telegraph pay wall is easy to crumble with some refresh and hitting stop before it fully loads.

Also have a flick through the Guardian to see what the enemy is up to.

Get the Sunday Times and have done for many a year , but the standard of journalism is dropping rapidly with a lot of quotes stolen from social media, I really should give it up and maybe I will in the near future.

Sunday papers are useful things to catch up with. The news website layout tend to mean you focus on the front page articles, whereas the paper makes you delve deeper.

I bought the Daily Star every lunchtime from being 13 through 16 … I was 16 in 1998. Can’t think I’ve bought a newspaper ever since. I do occasionally pick up a complimentary copy of the “I” when flying. My guilty pleasure is the Sun (online only).

Oh I lie - I bought the New York Times Xmas Eve 2013 (wedding day in New York) as a souvenir of the day.

None. I’ll sometimes buy the local paper but last time I did (last year I think) at least 50% of the pages were adverts, usually for car financing or package holidays (ironic in 2020).

I only buy one now if i'm on a long train journey and that has dropped off since Covid but on the odd occasion I do it the Telegraph is my choice.
Day to day I find a scan of both BBC news and Sky news does me for whats going on in the world.

Our local paper is weekly and free.

When we had a cat, I used it for car litter. Now I use it for filling the recycle bin.

Since the pandemic started, I've taken.my guardian via the interweb, but recently I just don't bother.

Wife tells me things she's read on line and I make noises about believing it when ive met the source.

I find them on the bus. My brother is a posh city type, he gets his on the tube. (but then he buys his own toilet paper too)

Last time I read a newspaper it was free with the hotel suite- only choice, the Indipendant.

I do buy the Spectator every week.

The only newspaper I've bought in ten years or more was one of the Sunday editions because I was stripping some paint.

I read the email online everyday
Also my iphone has a news button which features various newspaper articles which I read - mirror, sun, reuters, PlanetF1 etc.
PH usually alerts me to a news story first though

I know a couple of older people who still buy newspapers, but that's it. I guess they are ok if you want to know what happened a couple of days ago.
