Totally incompetent idiots at Parcel Farce delivered a form to me on Friday last week demanding payment for customs on an item. I paid on-line within 30 mins of the letter dropping onto my door mat, and received a confirmation that my item would be delivered the next business day which should have been Tuesday of this week (following bank holiday Monday). I declined to pay an additional £12 for them to deliver on Saturday. Glad I did now.

Since paying the charge, I have checked daily and the item is still "in depot". The status has not changed to "out for delivery". Typically, there is no accountability and they do not publish any telephone numbers that leads to my being able to talk to someone who can actually help with this.

I need this item urgently. How can I get through to them? I have logged a customer services request through their website but there's a 3-day lead time for someone to deal with it.

I couldn't get through the automated service on that number to talk to any humans.

Just ignore the options and wait and I expect it will see you are having difficulties and put you through

This, get them to speak to the depot the parcel is being held at and tell them you want to collect it, might not be a great solution but it’s the quickest by far.

I hate them - genuinely. This is not a service that benefits its customers - like so many today (BT, British Gas, my local council - I hate them all). They're not interested in helping. No-one is picking up the phone, so I went through the automated systems again, this time selecting a redelivery for tomorrow which prompted the on-line tracker to show the package had "gone back to depot" which is a lie as it had never left the depot to begin with.

Wow - someone answered the phone at last. I think that was my 9th attempt at calling today. Promised me he'd speak to the depot in question and have it delivered tomorrow. I remain sceptical but I guess I have to let that play-out. It'll be a week later than originally expected, having just sat in a depot for all this time.

It's a piece for my car which is immobile until this is delivered, hence my not offering to collect.

Yes. Sorry for the late update but I got straight into fitting it, and didn't finish until really late last night (2am actually). Thanks to whoever invented head-torches.

All working, so I'm happy but still slightly irked that the response to my complaint to PF about it having sat in their depot for a week was simply "We can see it has been delivered".

They're definitely on ze list now, along with the aforementioned.
