Princess Diana - The Late Princess of Wales

The 1st of July marks what would have been Princess Diana 60th birthday.
Her life and marriage to the Prince of Wales are well documented and views on her as a person and a royal will always be polarized.
What was true is her life changed drastically at the age of 19, and nothing could have properly prepared her for the role she was about to undertake.. These are just my opinions obviously. I believe she was only brought in to birth the next generation of royals - (William and Harry complying to normal protocols), and like the old Tina Turner song says, "What's Love Got To Do With It"? Camilla was at the wedding of Charles and Diana, just biding her time until Diana's "duties" were done. Diana was so popular when out on Royal duties in a way none of the other Royal's could possibly dream of being, and I'm sure they envied her popularity.
Of course she wasn't perfect, but the establishment even less so - Not supporting her as she was gradually isolated into a place where she didn't know who to believe or trust..
The accident in Paris which took her life was so tragic involving a drunk chauffeur and her not wearing a seatbelt in the back of the Mercedes.
I like many didn't know Diana and could only go on what I saw and heard on television and radio, but for me she was an asset for the family and the country, but an asset the establishment allowed in for the time it took for the two Princes, an heir and a spare to be born.
Some will oppose my views and have very different thoughts, or none at all, but I celebrate the 1st of July 2021 on what would have been Princess Diana's 60th birthday..

A life statue of a person will never convey the spirit within that person (although Churchill in Parliament Sq is an exception )
Either an abstract portrayal or a simple memorial , Cenotaph comes to mind , showing the persons strength , with subtle clues to her work with homeless , HIV and minefields etc .

Lay a minefield around the statue so nobody can get close enough to see how crap it is.

It never ceases to baffle me why this woman, nearly 25 years on from her death, is still getting the press coverage she does.
Newspapers today are full of journalists, a few even proclaiming to be her "friend", pontificating about what she'd have wanted, what she'd be doing, etc.
I literally do not know or care what she'd be doing and I'm surprised that so many appear to be the opposite.
All that "Queen of Hearts" stuff just made me want to vomit back in the 90s and does even more so now.
She's gone. She died tragically. Let her rest in peace.

Yet another moment where I can lay blame at Tony Blair "The Peoples Princess" is what kicked off the whole over the top nonsense.
Yes she used her position to do a few good things but certainly didn't deserve the saintly status the media seems to have given her.
And, as for that statue. I'd be a little embarrassed if I was the artist.
