dropped the camper into Tony Banks Leeds this morning for a stainless exhaust fitted,
told me it will be a few hours,
got on a bus, bought a return ticket that apparently gives all day travel,
stayed on through Leeds to Seacroft and back to Pudsey, back into Leeds and got off had a coffee
its years since I was on a bus, what a great people watching experience.

Busses aren't viable these days with stops so close to each other, was hoping that TFL would follow through with it's promise to end free travel for under twenties as kids will wait and then get on the bus for a just couple of stops instead of walking five minutes.
Haven't been on the bus for a while but in my youth used to get the N3 nightbus back after being out in London and it used to be heaving with depravity, these days I think people just get an Uber back home south of the river.

If you want to see an efficient bus network. Heres the route map for Edinburgh. Most services 5am- midnight 7 days a week and every10-20mins. Night buses 12am -4am 7days a week. A monthly pass is only £56 a month.
The oldest buses in regular service are 10 years old and they are spotless usually.
They have a heritage fleet for special occasions too.

I got on the Edinburgh tram from the airport and was impressed with the quality but then was also surprised at the fare of £6.50 if I remember correctly compared with £1.55 in London (I got the Tram to Croydon then train to Gatwick).

Early 2000s I lived in Egham, Surrey and we had some friends over one weekend.
We got the last bus to Windsor on a Saturday night at around 7.30pm. If we had turned around we might have made the last bus home - so we made a night of it and got a cab instead.
Public transport only seems to work in cities.

I don't know what busses are but buses are part of the public transport system.
Before the driving ban, I hardly went on many buses, as Lomdon routes are dull due to congestion and low speeds. On that fateful trip to Willesden Magistrates, the Wright Streetlites on the 232 had an amazing turn of speed up to 50 which is rare in most parts of London smothered by 20 zones

I had a epiphany when my car was in for a service, what a good idea, a bus from Falkirk to Edinburgh, cup of overpriced tea in Princes St.
and back again.
All human life was there, even a few unknown species, life's waifs, strays and footpads, whey faced and miserable,
skinny, spotty sportswear attired fkwits on their way to Aldis for some cider, eastern European single mothers pushing
pushchairs containing sprogs probably fathered by aforementioned spotty fkwits.
I then realised that's why I drive everywhere.
