Yea, unfortunately the thought of a therapeutic drive occurred to me after my second pint. My evening is tinged with anxiety as my other half is emergency services and on duty. It’s gonna be a grim night for them whatever the result.
We're having a stair carpet laid tomorrow (that's assuming the fitters aren't off sick through too much celebrating/commiserating of course) so I've been busy preparing for that. I've run out of things to do though, so I think I'll sneak off to the spare room and practice guitar for band rehearsals tomorrow and a small gig on Tuesday. My wife will no doubt watch something on Netflix now that the Tennis has finished.
I'm glad I'm not the only one on PH who feels like this as some people have a hard time comprehending my lack of interest: I told a customer last week that I don't follow the football and he still insisted on telling me all about the match from the night before. I'll no doubt have that a lot next week...

I had an Uncle (sadly passed away a couple of years back) who used to go out for a drive whenever a big sporting event was on. I'm actually going to watch the match though I have zero interest in football.
I've never understood why people get so worked up about it and why it causes so much trouble. I mean you never get Federer fans fighting with Nadal fans at SW19. I also had a number of my workers asking if they could have Monday off or start late - I told them no, we're running a business and the world doesn't stop for football. I then asked why they'd never asked for time off if for example Hamilton wins the championship, or we win at cricket or rugby. None of them could give me a decent answer.
I sound a right spoil sport.
