Anyone else overrun with the stuff? I must spend an hour a week cutting it up so it fits in the recycling and yet there is always some leftover!

I was just thinking about this the other day. So much of it that it can't be long before councils give us a new wheelie bin for it!

Best way to stop getting over run with card board is to stop buying off amazon. They will happily put a box in a box wrapped up in cardboard packing when the could just as easily have stuck thectransport label to the original box designed to ship the product in the first place.

Buy from a physical shop and reduce your cardboard waste.

No just more pleasurable and tactile.
When you dont work from home making sure your in for deliveries becomes a waste of your time and an inefficient way to live your life.

Get overrun when the flatpack furniture/kitchen units arrive.

Some boxes contain loads of plastic as to protect the goods in transit - that’s much more troublesome as most can’t be recycled.

I don't work from home and don't worry about being there to receive deliveries or not either.

We have just fitted out a 3 bed holiday let, every single item from teaspoon and picture hooks to tv's beds and ornaments.

I have never seen so much cardboard in my life! 7ft Tall fridge freezer - effectively 2 carboard boxes one inside the other, superking bed (in cardboard), new bath plug - in cardboard

Hired a large skip for the cardboard, needed 2 in the end and multiple trips to the tip

My bin men will take huge cardboard boxes as long as they're flatpacked, or at least empty. They took a 5m long heavy duty "tube" from the middle of a carpet roll a couple of months ago. Just feed it in to the truck and it takes care of it. Have a word with them - they will probably just say "yep leave it out, we'll take it".

Ours in Devon wouldn't take cardboard unless it was in the tiny plastic bag they provide. The bag is about the size of a supermarket bag for life.

Rubbish collection and recycling in North Devon is about 20 years behind where we are in Gloucestershire

They did that twice with some Lego wife ordered as a present. Third time it came in a tight fitting outer carton - with a corner completely destroyed.

I showed wifey how to peel the labels off the previously sent Lego boxes, which were in perfect condition. Sadly Amazon insisted on collecting the two extra boxes.

I have never seen so much of it in my entire life as I have recently. Everything seems to be double or triple packed in the stuff.

On top of that we have recently just fitted our new house with bathrooms, kitchen, utility, plus everything else you need in a newly built house, and every single item arrived packed in cardboard. Every tap, sink, kitchen appliance, TV's, equipment, radiators, cupboard doors, kitchen units, shelf, piece of furniture, mirrors, handles, etc, absolutely everything.

It wasn't just cardboard it was mountains of plastic wrapping and polystyrene packing.

It took two large skips just to get rid of the packaging. Absolutely unreal.

Or the kids have taken it to make a den/castle/robot body with and it'll be wrecked.
