Any Animatronic Repair People?

I'm looking for someone to do a repair and service on some large animatronic dinosaurs I have, can't seem to find anyone to do it.

Don't suppose anyone knows someone who does this sort of thing?!

It's more complicated than it sounds as you have to cut the latex layers to get to the motors, repair it and then sew up / re-latex the cut and paint to make it invisible.

I have the parts but not the skills...

The dinosaurs are quite big, one is 24ft long.

Have you tried contacting the technical departments at some of the big theme parks? They might be able to put you in touch with the right contacts.

There are several juke box and pinball repair businesses but they're probably not in your territory.

Yes its very random, but someone must repair these things !

Not sure the team at a theme park will help but I guess its worth a try. I assume they have their own internal staff to do stuff like this.

They look clean the ones at my local crazy golf course have moss growing on them.

Talking of which I would Google some crazy golf courses near you and see if they have anything the same and then try to find out who they use.

Random animatronics story; my mate worked for one of the theme park groups, and one particular ride includes an animatronic bloke sitting at an organ in the station (if you know, you know... ). The thing hadn't worked properly for years and they set about renovating it. It sits with its back to the riders, you don't see the front of it. It was a bit of voyage of discovery by all accounts, the thing was ancient and much TLC was required. The park owners also run a waxworks or two here and there (I'm not offering prizes for guessing!) and he said the most bizarre part of it all was when they took him down and saw his face - it was a very old wax version of Phil Collins!

An electronic engineer may be good for the wiry stuff.

A clinical/casualty simulation technician should be good for the repairs afterwards. Give your local hospital a shout.

I think there's been a build thread on it, the OP owns a mini golf place (amongst other stuff).
