Sold an item on ebay, 10 minutes later get the old.

''
Hi, i realised i won the bid but please can you be kind enough to cancel as the money i wanted to use for it has been urgently requested by a friend who is in dire need.. please..''

Was pissed but it is only 40 quid. I sent a few message basically, will recover difference from him on relist etc

So relist it, guess who won at a lower price 30 quid?

What to do?

I notice his twitter bio is ''real, reliable & responsible''', yeh right.

It won’t help in your current predicament, but the first thing I do when someone messes me around on eBay is immediately add them to my blocked buyer list; I also do it when I get a stupid/scam email from a prospective bidder. Weeds out the idiots, of which there are many!

Buyer sounds light a right ranker, he should add that to his twitter list.

For the sake of a tenner I’d probably just suck it up, sell it to him and move on. Hopefully karma will send some fruit flies to make a nest in his arse while he’s asleep.

LOL i messaged him saying he is having a laugh.

''Hi,not having a laugh please.I told you i was not having the money because i lent it to a friend but because i need it so urgently to complete a task, i had to ask my spouse for money in order to place another bid .I searched for and placed another bid today. If i had the money as at yesterday’s night, i would have placed a bid.Didn’t even know you were same person . i know every seller here is for business and not to make a laugh!''

Yes not really that fussed they are worth 50 so will wait until xmas. Just not fan of liars.

I'm beginning to dislike selling on Ebay.
This week I sold a record player, listed as collection only as it is unboxed and delicate. Buyer buys and pays for said turntable, then messages with a request to post it. I reply and say I can't post it, as I have no way of doing so safely. I get a reply to say the royal mail won't damage it, and can I ring them. I reply and say that it is collection only as I have no way of posting it and that it isn't my fault if they can't read the description! Ha.
Result is the buyer is travelling from London to Derby at some point this week! Could be an amusing handover.

Why is Ebay and Facebook (even worse) full of cretins?

i steer clear of ebay, but fee offers have meant it is cheaper, FB i just don't get as many takers.

i paid 8 quid to sell a 1.8k item.

I think the fact you can't leave negative feedback for buyer mean there are loads of idiots like him out there.

What is his task and what is it that he needs so desperately to complete it?

Reading his message I’m envisaging an Egyptian farmer who has just run out of special latex gloves and urgently needs to masturbate some semen out of his prized stud camel. For reproduction purposes, nothing sexual. Well not to begin with anyway, we’ll see how it goes hehe

Well it looks like he charges 60 per hour as a usability tester, probably on here. Money must be tight him buying a Facebook portal twice..

the plot thickens

''Hi, i just saw you cancelled my order but i told you yesterday to keep me updated.I really need this urgently. If i can buy it for that same amount that i won yesterday.i don’t mind . I can get that from my spouse as he is home now. Please let me know what you decide.''

Must want to film the camel procedure or something. It’s all getting a bit specialised for me, tbh it might not even have anything to do with camels. I might not be the best person to advise here, you’d best wait for someone a bit more sober silly

Utter bellend buyer. If you sell to them at the higher price the next move will be to claim it didn't arrive\was damaged\whatever and demand a refund.

Block them.

If you do (and I think that's a great idea) make sure you let the ebay "person" know

Perhaps next time go for the 'Buy It Now / Best Offer' option.

I find that it saves a lot of hassle on fleabay.
