Amazon minimum orders creeping in?

Noticed this fairly recently, needing to purchase in quantity to fulfil an order.
The other week i needed to replace a broken 1/2 ratchet decided on a Draper from Draper Amazon store. It qualified for Prime, so added to checkout basket and almost hit 'Buy button' but noted the minimum quantity was 10 ratchets,10x the cost I needed for one ratchet & there was no other seller that had that ratchet for sale.
Ended up buying a Wiesemen Ratchet in the end, a quality German product (made in China, when it arrived, Grr).
Same yesterday wanted some SDS+ bits, found a set from Makita same thing minimum order of 2, luckily I found another Seller but no Prime but still free delivery.
Is this a new thing, never noticed it before?

You are correct and that is normally what i do if not in a hurry, had my car stripped down for brakes and i needed it for the Monday, Prime delivered on a Sunday which allowed me to finish the job.Who's going to buy 10x that's for Wholesalers.

This isn't an Amazon thing, it's a seller on the Amazon platform thing. I wouldn't worry about it, Amazon constantly try different things to see what sticks. As mentioned above, they used to have sometimes which were add on items, but that has gone away.
Rest assured, they are working diligently to ensure that they will screw us in new and exciting ways we haven't thought of in the future

Yes, I've noticed this too. Bloody annoying. Sometimes you can go into the 'choose delivery day' and specify next day delivery still, but that requires an extra step that isn't at all clear.Click. Click. Done.

I noticed that recently. Not sure why the average person would need more wiper blades than their car has. Both in the print say "Note: This item is eligible for FREE Click and Collect without a minimum order subject to availability. click for details" both are Amazon fulfilled & supplied but looks like you can only get if you click and collect.

Can we not use Amazon ? There are plenty of other retailers out there , why not knip down to your local Halfords outlet or machine mart ? And get the item the same day.
I dont understand the need to always go to Amazon other than just being lazy.... they don't offer anything more than any other retailer.
