Do You Wear Bright Coloured Socks?

In the pub the other day and my wife pointed out some rather nice bright orange socks a trendy young chap was wearing together with dark turned up jeans.

It then dawned on me that socks or more importantly the colour of them has never really entered my conciousness.

I looked at my sock drawer and there were just black, navy blue and dark grey Christmas stocking filler socks, totally devoid of any colour at all.

So today a package from Next arrived with an assortment of bright coloured socks and coloured stripey ones.

Looking forward to ridding the sock drawer of the drab.

I do not wear bright socks, because I am not in the least bit fashionable.

I am not quite at mid life crisis age however so perhaps the time is yet to come when I choose to wear dazzlingly bright socks.

Today's socks are bright blue, pink orange and yellow and have huge monster faces on the front. They're also odd.

My 6 year old has the exact same socks in a smaller size

Work is for comfy black sports socks as Im on my feet all day but the rest of the time is fun coloured socks.

Think I used to feel that way, but a dash of colour round the foot area isn't too zany.

No, one solid colour is fine, but things like "Too sexy for my socks" etc, GTFO

Some of my socks (mainly the ones my OH hand knits for me) have colour but would never be considered "bright".

i don't have anything particularly outlandish, but what i don't care much about is matching socks, i just grab any two and we're good to go. clashing patterns or just 2 subtley different black socks, its all good.

i noticed there's a sock company who now make pairs of 'odd' socks so i am clearly a fashion trendsetter

No, but that's because i'm a pretty subdued dresser in general. Bought an orange t-shirt last week; that was pretty wild of me.

I love silly socks. Getting them in a size 15 is tricky though! I also rarely wear matching socks, but primarily because the 50lbs of muscle & teeth that lives in my house just thinks he's hilarious running off with them and putting holes in them.... (Not Mrs Blue either )

Nonsense, colourful socks are an excellent substitute for a personality!

Once I was living on my own and thus doing my own washing, I realised the plethora of black socks I had leftover from school were a ballache to pair etc.

As such I decided I'd just get the most obnoxiously coloured ones I could find (from tesco no less) and thus they'd always be nice and easy to match up.

Over a decade later and my sock draw is now almost painful to behold with the naked eye, and everything is so violently patterned and colourful that pairing them up is an absolute nightmare

about 2 years ago I threw out all my socks and bought new ones (many were past there best). Sports direct black Slazenger socks the lot. Last month I replaced them with same ones as dog chewed many of them. Black works with everything an all being the same means no issues pairing them. Plus they are cheap as chips

Yes, and mismatched (from the same set) especially when running a movement workshop online.

My socks are often mentioned to be because I choose carefully. 90% of the time they match my trousers, or are slightly darker. Ocassionally I'll match them to my shirt. For example, I have a pair of muddy green chinos, I usually wear with a pink shirt. If I do, I match the shirt to the socks. If I wear a different shirt, I'll generally match the trousers.
