Sock matching strategy

You know that you buy socks in pairs, right?

I go for varied colours - I’ve tried all the same so no need to match but sometimes they wear differently and I can’t cope with wearing one that is more worn than the other foot.

My other half regularly borrows my socks when wearing boots so a few months back i ordered 60 pairs of plain black socks.

Any time i find anything other than a thin black sock it gets chucked in the bin. Easy.

I just buy thin black socks have done for years. After about a year of washing they begin to fade and not match anymore. That is the point I buy another 15 pairs, chuck the old ones out, and start again. I do have a few pairs of thick socks for walking boots etc and use the same principle with them.

but one should try and look after one's staff where possible- anything to make their lives easier means less chance of mutiny in the ranks.

Thick black socks are sock nirvana for me.

Buy 30 pairs of black and 10 pairs of trainer socks for the gym once a year, job done.

I tried option 2 (helps with uneven wear too) but discontinued lines have foiled me, so now a combo of 2, 3 & 4

Long socks, of whatever thickness suits the occasion/shoes, keep you warm in winter.

I tried that and somehow, inexplicably, 2 years later was left with nothing but odd socks. I have now bought only coloured socks and wear whichever I get my hands on and be damned if they match or not.

You're right, of course. I have different coloured socks in my sock drawer
.... but I don't care about them as it's *still* the maid's job.

I took my daughter shoe shopping when she was not wearing socks. Easy fix, I bought a pack of socks as she needed them anyway. Some lunatic had put 14 un-matching socks in a pack. I ended up buying 2 packs to create 14 pairs.

Black socks with a coloured toe section, allows easy pairing, which makes little difference as I only buy the same socks, but I feel better when wearing matching socks, I am also the same type of person who refuses to turn a sock the right way out, take mine off properly so they are always the correct way out, the boys on the other hand just get their socks paired as they are, if one is inside out then that is their issue.

I wear 2 pairs of socks. Every day, all year round. Some people think it’s weird. Is it?

Buy all the same. Grey/black/dark blue whatever. Replace as a whole batch periodically as CBA matching different shades of grey/black/blue socks of various ages.
