Bifocals with clip on sunglasses bit online?

Hi

My last but one eye exam with Boots 2 years ago, they did glasses with a magnetic clip on sunglasses bit that perfectly matched the shape of the prescription glasses underneath. i.e not a hinged fold down plastic sun glasses bit.
This year, new prescription but they dont do the clip on sunglasses anymore.
If I can get my prescription from boots, does anyone know where I might be able to get or order another pair that are similar?
They are perfect for the car as I can see the road ahead clearly and also see my gauges etc inside the car clearly. And if its overcast I can just whip off the shade bit.

I used to have a pair the same from Specsavers but they weren't doing them when I got my latest set of glasses, so interested to see if you find somewhere.

Completely agree about how useful they are in the car, only issue I had was I broke 3 of the sunglasses bits in a couple of years as I could carry them around with me without needing a massive armoured case

It's 5 years since I retired but I used to sell a brand called Convertibles. Their entire range was in the style you talk about.

Google Convertibles sunglasses and they have a list of stockists.

I had this exact problem and went for varifocals with a polarized lense. They work perfectly.

There are plenty of on line places that will put new lenses in your existing specs. Cheaper and quicker than having new ones form the optician.

A website called optiqueline came up. The glasses they have give an Eye size, bridge size, and depth. Would my current optician have these measurements as I've no idea what they are.

Also a site called pro-optic but seems to need a log in and no way of registering. wholesale site maybe.

While your optician will have your pupillary distance (how far apart your pupils are), the measurements for multifocal lenses need to be taken with the frame on your face. I have no idea how these on-line companies do it and manage to get it right. If you ring Pro-optic, and tell them you're looking for a stockist near you there is no reason they wouldn't tell you.
All the Convertibles I sold had polarised lenses in the clip. Personally, I wouldn't have a pair of any kind of sunglasses that weren't polarised. I believe you can't wear them for flying as they can make some instruments un-readable.
