Bought a gaming chair, seemed too cheap to be true and the seller had zero feedback.
Arrived within a couple of days, however it wasn't a chair,it was an elephant keyring lol.
Checked the sellers feedback again and now has 1 ...make that 2 now....negative,done the same to someone else..
I've started the returns process and the seller has accepted it and a postage label has been sent.
My question is what has the seller to gain ?
They've had to buy the keyrings.pay for postage and now return postage.
I don't get it, surely no one is going to accept a key ring instead of a chair and any money they receive will have to be returned

Depending on the selling category, the money is paid out immediately - I sold computer equipment last night and the money was in my bank account this morning. eBay are pretty good at catching people setting up accounts for scamming, because with the eBay buyer protection they will lose out if they can't recover the funds from the seller.

You'll still get refunded by Ebay, any time I've had a dispute they've always settled quickly in my favour and I've received a full refund.

What if the parcel doesn't get delivered, say for example it's a fake address so Royal Mail can't deliver it ?

Somewhere in the returns section there's an option to ask Ebay to step in, do that and you should just get a full refund, plus a free keyring.

Yes I've seen that but can't find where you actually ask ebay to step in.

If you read the help section, it says that they will step in automatically after so many days after logging the complaint/return i think.

Theres a get help section where you talk to an automated thing but ask to speak to someone. It got my dispute sorted very fast, also will you take £1 for the key ring? hehe
