I can understand that certain goods are in short supply because of what has been happening globally in the past 18 months eg some new cars because of the global supply of computer chips. However, I’m puzzled as to things like prunes. In the supermarkets there used to be a choice of prunes. I noticed that some had disappeared but now there are no prunes at all. Similarly, there used to be a big choice of olive oil but last time it had been reduced to nearly two. Perhaps we should stock up before that disappears too.

Assuming that the weather hasn’t impacted plum growing, why have the prunes disappeared?

Anyone else seen goods disappear from the shelves that you wouldn’t expect to be in shortage?

Not an egg to be seen in Lidl yesterday. Mrs GliderRider said it was the same when she went the week previously. I popped into Aldi and they had plenty of eggs in all sizes and quantities.

Shirts. My local next has about 4 on the shelf. My local M&S have stopped selling shirts, suits or any smart ware completely. Not sure if that's a permanent move.

Next online is saying 1-2 weeks delivery. For a black shirt?? WTF

Crisps. My big Tesco had no single packs at all and only wotsits and hula hoops multi packs.

However, it was reported a few days ago in media that there 'might' be a shortage of crisps so I suspect they'd been panic bought.

Our vets have said as things stand our cats won't be able to have their boosters in December, again due to a shortage. The local cattery won't take cats that don't have an up-to-date "service history" so I guess we won't be going away anywhere in the foreseeable future!

If you can wait a few days go on Etsy and find a UK based maker. Search for fishing birthday card and there are a few choices.

Own brand cola (Tesco) vanished at the start of the year never to return. Walkers crisp brands including Monster Munch also been completely absent for the last three weeks or so. The latter is probably my bad, I put it around on the socials that corn based snacks contain enzymes that may prevent coronavirus.

Also dog food.
