Some days I am sorely tempted, especially when my bloody shoelaces end up in knots when I'm trying to undo them in a hurry when I get home and I'm bursting for a pee. 
That's when I regard my 3-yr old grandson's schoolshoes' velcro fastenings with a degree of envy.
If they had a Black Friday for white people, I would probably be seeking out a bargain pair of Size 10s.

I’m not buying any more shoes with laces. I’m 72, and although it is admittedly getting more difficult to get down to shoe lace level, an operation left me with much reduced feeling on the thumb and forefinger of both hands. Added to this is painful arthritis in my left thumb.
I actually had to get my son to help me undo the laces on my new trainers the other day. Velcro ones for me in future.
What I can’t understand though, is why Glenrobbo has to take his shoes off in order to have a leak?

Back in my early 20's/late 30's I used to wear Vans Prison Issue, (as well as normal All Stars), similar in style to those Stan Smiths, but I've not seen them for at least a decade (46 now), I now just stick to my lace up Vans. Edited by HTP99 on Thursday 25th November 16:23

He makes the mistake of tying his laces together and the toilets upstairs. Easy to have the a similar problem with velcro but a vigorous leg movement resolves it. I actually had to get my son to help me undo the laces on my new trainers the other day. Velcro ones for me in future.

Because I only wear my Billy Connolly Incontinence Pants when going out for a full day. I'm not keen on all the sloshing about when just going for a walk in the park, or to the shops and back.What I can’t understand though, is why Glenrobbo has to take his shoes off in order to have a leak?
And Tena Gents are only absorbent up to a certain pintage. Beyond that, puddles start to form and I get accusing fingers pointing in my direction.

Re velcro shoes: cycling shoes often fasten with velcro.
After four ops I was told I have failed back surgery syndrome a.k.a an irreparable slipped disc. The kindly NHS gave me an implanted neurostimular. After 7 years it went End Of Life (not the most reassuring display on the handheld controller). I recently had the Mk.3 version put in and while the stims help, I still have sciatic pain. As a result, I got some Reebok Classics with Velcro tabs and I use elastic shoelaces in other footwear so they're all slip on. I also have a moulded plastic sock fitting device and with the aid of a good shoehorn, life is more tolerable.
