Hazel Chapman Dies

Sad to see that Hazel Chapman, Colin Chapman's widow has died. 94 so a good innings but it does feel like the end of an era.

Gosh. RIP Hazel. I was a kid when Colin died and am rapidly becoming an old git now so not a bad innings indeed.

His cars may have been designed to fall apart as soon as they had won the race but his Mrs was clearly made of sterner stuff;)

Indeed, a great shame. She stayed close to Hethel, living at East Carleton Manor with son Clive & family on the estate.

She had quite a bit to put up with - several Lotuses are sold as having been ACBC's own car, but they were in his name as gifts to the mistresses. Then there was the whole Delorean/Essex issue.

Throughout, she retained her dignity. RIP.
