Glitch in the Matrix?

I've just got home having driven back from visiting family. I do this journey every couple of months, and it usually goes something like:
First 45 miles: Lovely ducking and diving cross-country B-roads. Quiet, but what traffic there is is always slow enough that you never get more a few miles before catching up with something that then holds you up for 10 miles before turning off (on a good day). Rinse and repeat, until I get to...
Next 200 miles: Motorways and dual carriageways. Quiet-ish at the time I'm travelling, but the full gamut of moronic UK motorway driving "skills" - tailgaiting, middle lane hogs, random acceleration/slowing, etc. Infuriating and depressing. Then it's....
Last 10 miles: mix of local A-roads and back roads, NSL, usually in a long queue doing 40-odd MPH.
Today however:
First 45 miles. Did the whole lot without being held up once. Only caught up with two cars in 45 miles and they both turned off as I caught them. I've been driving these roads for 40 years and know them inside out - I've never once had a completely clear run before. Not completely stupid speeds, but progress was made and fun was had.
Motorways / dual carriageways: everyone in lane 1, except when overtaking. Pulling out/back leaving appropriate but not huge gaps. Nobody staying in lane 2 cos there's someone a mile ahead they may or may not be gaining on. Everyone going a PH-acceptable speed, nobody tanking past at a ton or crawling at 60.
Last 10 miles. 1 car in front, both sitting around and about the speed limit (assuming the speedo was over-reading a bit).
It's like the whole world came to an end last night and a new version has been reloaded with the driving bugs removed. Bring on 2022 if this is what it's going to be like!

Amazing drive home tonight, with deserted twisties and motorway drivers who knew what to do.

Wednesday in Scotland. 1st and 2nd are both bsnk holidays up here. We need the first to sleep.of Hogmanay and the 2nd you can actually do something with your bank holiday. England gets its extra bank holiday somewhere else in the year. I cant remember when to make up for Scotland taking 2 at the start of the year.
