Do i need to dig up my dead pet?

Bit grim subject but here goes.

The family Guinea Pig died last October (late to mid) and i buried it in the front garden in a cardboard box with the top of the box about 5cms from the top of the soil.

Now I’m having some excavation work done which may encroach on the little critter!

Do i need to dig him up and move him, or will he of de-composed by now?

Really don’t want to have to dig him up as the ground is very wet and presume nothing left of the cardboard box at least of substance and don’t fancy seeing Mr Pig again!

But then don’t really want half of him hanging from an excavators bucket!

Any advice greatly appreciated and sorry if I’ve ruined your lunch!

I'm surprised a cat or dog haven't had it up and eaten it being buried so shallow.
Dig it up and dispose. One big shovel full with the shovel dug in the ground fully should see it up and out.
Black bin bag will be you're friend.

He would get buried again just somewhere that will be lakeside not in the lake.

Dig him up and bury him somewhere else. Ours usually go under flagstones so difficult for the local critters to dig up.

I guess you will get some of the predictable PH answers who dont 'get' why you would want to bury a pet and not just stick it in the bin.
