Does your GF/Mrs ever ?

I feel slightly unloved.
As I sit each night and watch the flix, on a large number of films/shows/dramas there is a moment.
The man is dressing or preparing for something, and there is a conversation/dialogue with his woman. Then at some point she will lose patience with him, step towards him and take over the buttoning of the shirt or straighten his tie knot. Sometimes if she really cares for him she will smooth the front of his shirt with her hand - though obviously we never see her ironing.
So gentlemen - does your lady ever actually do this? Am I missing out on some care/affection here.
I raised this point with my (Dutch) lady and I expect the swelling above my eye will die down later.
Does she hell, she just huffs at me that i am not going out dressed like that and then goes off the deep end when i can't read her mind as to how she wants me to be dressed to go out.*
* Okay, sometimes i know exactly what she wants me to do but i am not being told what to do like a little child, so i fein ignorance

Mrs Magoo will tuck a T shirt label in for me as she says it shows somebody loves me.
On the rare occasion we go out its me that gives the ok on what she wears. She also says that I look good when tidied up with some decent flannel on and will straighten my tie or collar.
She's very hands on!
We are both second time round in the marriage malarkey so perhaps we've learned some lessons.
