Lying flat (Tang Ping), where would you go?

Last night we went out to dinner with some friends and where idly chatting about the "lying flat" phenomenon in China and the "anti work" movement in the west. That got me thinking, where would you go if you where young and had a little money saved, but now wanted to 'drop out' for a few years? Just rent an apartment, get a used car, go surfing every morning and drink beers every evening.

My first thought was South East Asia but that's only because I've been there before and know its fairly safe.

if you are doing zero work well your not likely to be young an have cash but lets say little savings an minimal work, Asia or even parts of southern europe (a friend bought a place in scicily for £20k for example), an then do a bit of cash in hand work to pay for food an just relax
