Names that make you judge

I was on the phone to a very helpful lady when i called our bank a few days ago - she sorted everything out perfectly, was polite, easy to understand and was a pleasure to speak to.
I asked her name at the end and she said "Chelsea". I immediately took a dislike to her.
I know, i know... and i'm working on it.
But, anyone feel the same about a particular name?

We probably all make judgments on people based on their name.
Anyone called Ptolomey or Hermione is going to be posh and moneyed
Anyone called Tristan or Anabelle is middle class, works in PR and lives in a flat owned by Daddy.
Nigels are boring, Daves are all in the building trade, Karens are argumentative, Sharons and Traceys will forever be tainted by the stigma of Viz characters.

There was an episode of 'Judge Judy' showing on a television in a bar I was at last week, I glanced at the screen and one of the participants had the first name 'Toshiba', and all I could think of was whether she had a sister called 'Hitachi'.
I really do think there should be a list of approved names (I believe some countries have such a system) - giving a child an unusual name is a very selfish act by the parents. (My chavvy cousin has a kid called Honey, she's never going to be a High Court judge with that name is she.)

Boring / serious answer : I used to be quite a name snob, until I went through the process of adopting two girls. Both of them have names I'd have judged previously but I think very differently now. They didn't choose their names and they're not a reflection of who they are. They're just names.

Nominative determinism is a thing… even if it should not be.The secondary question is whether names affect behaviour and outcomes.

Whilst I agree with your general sentiment, my wife has a friend in her early fifties called Honey. I've never come across anyone else called Honey before, but I suspect you're extrapolating from the chaviness of your cousin rather than there being anything about Honey as a name?
