Dog poos in trees

Dog owner here and I have often thought the same. Why go to the trouble of buying bags & picking it up only to hang it off a tree?
Really does defy all logic.
Once a week, I take a carrier bag with me and collect between 20 or 30 of these that others have left behind and put them in the next bin.
Would love to catch someone in the act so I could ask them why they do it.

There was a discussion about this on my local Facebook group, apparently it's the done thing if you're planning to walk back the way you came and pick it up later.
Personally I think it's the height of bad manners. I don't really care if you're leaving it there for 2 minutes, 2 hours of 2 weeks. You're ruining the countryside if even a single other person has to look at it.
Incidentally, for the first time ever, I actually saw someone doing it last weekend, I was about 50 yards behind them and they knew I was there before they started to hang so obviously couldn't give a toss. Looked like a fairly normal family with non-chav looking kids and dog. I thought about telling the chap what I thought of his behaviour but had a stinking cold/covid at the time and couldn't be bothered with any interaction.

Slight off tangent, but another thing seems to be collect poo in a bag, then leave it on someone's wall.
Now I walk my dog in a loop, so don't come back the same way, and I suspect walking on roads, most are the same, so no reason to leave and then pick up later, in fact its always still there later on in the day.

Not sure how feasible this idea is, but as DNA can be established from faecal matter, I always thought that dogs' DNAs should be registered alongside ownership of the dog itself, so that dog owners are linked and can be traced back to the faeces and before being dealt with accordingly.
It's an a disgrace that some cowards think that they're somehow still doing their bit by hanging dog mess in a tree for someone else to pick up whilst completely ignoring the obvious health and safety risks and lack of respect to others, especially council and other staff who should not have to deal with such things.

I've never understood this. If I need a st then I have one before going out, not mid walk.
Why can't dog owners just train their dogs to st at home, and then they can just walk them for exercise?

It probably doesn't matter where in the owners dwelling the dog defecates so long as it's there and not on the commons. Surely science can come up with some sort of gene therapy injection to make dogs poo on command or be triggered by some sort of chemical delivered via the dogs olfactory system?
