Quick Question for Instagram Users
Discussion
My young Ish daughter uses Instagram and recently when forwarding on a photo to me her iPhone suggested who she could send it to which featured the usual selection of recipients (the people she has texted or WhatsApped recently) but there was also a person in there on Instagram suggesting she could share with them via Instagram.
Question is does this mean she has directly messaged them on Instagram, they have messaged her directly, she has just commented on one of their posts or a combination of the above or other?
Just trying to understand the dynamic as a cautious father - thanks all.

For your sake OP I just checked - if I hit share, and then choose Instagram, the suggestions ARE all accounts I have a message history with.
However - that in some cases just means I've sent a "like" (love, thumb up, whatever) to one of their Insta stories.
Not that I've been actually 'talking' to them.

Tested it and it suggests accounts I've messaged before or reacted to stories from. There's only one I recognise without being able to explain where from. I can't remember reacting to anything and I don't seem to have any messaging history, but there must be some connection stretching way back that I've forgotten about.
Thanks all - it wasn’t by going into Instagram it was just an immediate suggested contact. It was the first suggestion. Not a massive problem just trying to understand if it meant DM or just reacting, sounds like it could be just reacting places a contact there but correct me if not. Thanks again.
