Facebook marketplace ban question

I dont do it much, but i have recently posted a few items on the facebook marketplace. Immediately after posting an item I get banned for violating community standards or some such guff. There is a button to "review" and i am reinstated 24hrs later. No explanation as to what i did/n't doand no explanation as to why the decision was reversed. Does this happen a lot? Conatacting the help desk is a waste of time because they will only tell me the matter is resolved. How can I learn from it if don't know what I did?! Any clues please?

Does it contain or can be confused with things like guns. Eg Shoot! (Could be a board game) etc. I think it’s stuff like that

Maybe it is a way if reviewing your posts before allowing them?

Although it does seem an odd way of doing it.

Have you read through the T&C's for marketplace to see if there is anything that you might be getting close to violating?

The same keeps happening to my Facebook account. I have never posted on there, just use it when I follow links to cars for sale etc.
It keeps getting blocked for violating the community guidelines , I object and it gets reinstated.

Very odd, I can only think that they assume my Facebook account is some sort of fake account as I don’t post any content.

Don't get me started on Facebook and their ways. I have tried (and succeeded in some cases) to advertise my business on there. Technically this isn't allowed but plenty of people do so. I run a tree surgery business and trying to find words that describe the business that aren't picked up by Facebook's algorithms is tricky. Certainly the word "service" causes issues. Sadly I have found that it is trial and error with it.

Are you posting branded items? e.g. adidas as they get blocked frequently.

Remember it’s facebook’s version of artificial intelligence so obviously it’s st. You have to make sure you are smarter than it is - maybe that’s the problem

it does this counterfeit detection stuff automatically and it is utterly st. I am not sure how it does it, but there are some items that get rejected as counterfeit immediately with no justification or ability to appeal.

thanks all. as i suspected its just a bit crap.

I'm not selling old Kelly brook calendars now (as if I'd ever let those go?!!), nor guns nor counterfeit stuff or owt else dodgy.

I was reinstated and all is well again.

I tried several times to list a modded PS2 and Original Xbox.

I can only assume it didn't like 'modded' 'chipped' 'installed games' etc.

So put them back in the loft.

Facebook is dead, it's like the really, really bad kind of porn and using it these days just makes me feel dirty and weak

I find if you mention brand names for clothing, the listing gets deleted for selling counterfeit items...even though it's genuine.

Me too. It's a very dumb algorithm. I can only assume they do it like this because it's impossible to assure if the items are genuine, so they just effectively ban all items which mention brands which are targets for counterfeiting.
