People who are wasteful

Sitting at a cafe recently enjoying a coffee and I a man, wife and child leave. I am not sure what they had but they left two almost full glasses of wine plus a at best half eaten plate of food. That was at least £30 of food and drink. I just find it difficult to understand. Why order something you don’t want? Especially when it is so expensive. It is something I see often in cafes. People order cakes then only eat half.

Maybe it is a generational thing. My parents experienced rationing during and after the Second World War and we were not allowed to leave anything on our plates, even when it was rank (grilled pigs liver being the worst offender).

Different people have different attitudes to money. £30 to them may be nothing, whereas to others it may be a weeks food.

They paid, their food/drinks, their choice what they do with it.

Also don’t assume they’re using their money with record debt and credit card use escalating it is just a way of life for many with seemingly no consequences as they wait for the next bailout.

Saw this many times when I had a restaurant.

Argument, kid ill, emergency phone call...

Argument was always the good one, especially on Valentines.

What a load of codswallop. I suppose you’re assuming their car is on PCP etc. some people have to politicise everything. Maybe they just had enough and left.

Might have tasted awful. Did very similar a few weeks ago when the food (and drink) was utterly terrible.

I see this routinely living in Oxforshire, people leaving almost full plates of food, leaving events early, glasses over half full, this next few months I hope shows these wasteful people that you should be frugal and make the most of what you have, try not to throw food away.

I know lots of people who will NEVER eat ANY food if it has gone out of date, regardless of if it has been int he fridge or opened. It is shameful how throwaway our society has become sadly.

The driver let the tyres down and the lorry was able to pass under the bridge?

And he could reach the button for the ground floor on the way down, but he couldn’t reach the button for floor 12 on the way up.
