I have just bought a Samsung TV, brand new, £200.00 or so - Seems to do far more than you might imagine for such a lowly price and was presumably manufactured halfway around the planet in South Korea.

I plan to hang it on the wall, so I need a bracket, these start at about £25.00 for what is, in effect, a few screws and 2 mass produced bits of black painted mild steel as long as a ruler.

It is quite interesting that a child of the 1950’s would have been dumbstruck by the tech in the Telly, but would have likely had the skills ( and possibly the Meccano in his cupboard ) to make something up and to hang it on the wall, but now the tech is comparatively cheap whilst the bracket is the money spinner in the whole equation. Indeed, I wonder if most of the youth of today could even screw the bracket on a wall…..

Look on ebay they start about £7 or so. If you want one which tilts backwards and forwards, left and right, then you may end up paying more.

Assuming it has VESA fixings, you'll find a nice selection of mounts on amazon for £10-20, depending on the TV size and what you need it to do (swivel, tilt etc). I've used the various cheap and cheerful makes of bracket and never had an issue with any.

The first TV wall bracket I bought in 2007 cost me £85!
Admittedly it was one with an extending arm, to pull the tv out from an alcove, but I was very impressed when purchasing a flat one recently how cheap they’d become.

TV Wall Mount, TV Brackets for Most of 22-55 inch LED/LCD/OLED Flat & Curved TV Support 45kg, Max VESA 400x400mm Tilt TV Brackets, TV Bracket 55 inch, TV Wall Bracket MT4204 https://amzn.eu/d/bRcxc2y

Same here. My ~£500 Samsung telly is hanging off a £22 Amazon bracket in the lounge and it works perfectly. Same goes for the older Sony in the bedroom. You can easily spend several times that amount though, for something that does a literally identical job. There is no need at all to spend huge amounts unless perhaps your TV weighs tens of kg and is truly enormous (but that would be council, so I'm sure the OP doesn't).

I get our wall TV and monitor brackets from CPC Farnell.

The first one I purchased (many years ago) for our 40 something inch TV was under £4 and nearly didn't purchase as was concerned about quality.

Package arrived and was surprised how strongly constructed and well made it was.

A selection is here:

https://cpc.farnell.com/c/audio-visual/tv-stands-m...

Think ours is this one (now gone up to £5.99 including VAT !)

Hope this helps.

I have 2 of the Farnell ones - 1 holding a 32" TV up in the garage and the other one holding a 40" Sony TV in one of the bedrooms. Excellent value bracket and very secure

My partners son his 30 and completely useless anything around his flat. I’ve shown him and shown him many times had to do something but he just isn’t confident and will never buy any tools as he just doesn’t get it ??
We have put hard wall picture hanging hooks on the wall a few times and he still asked how to do it they just don’t seem to get it these days. Good with computers though
