Despite being passionate about some of my vehicles, it struck me tonight that I don't have any vehicle branded clothes in my (admittedly meagre) wardrobe, or disorganised T-shirt drawer. No hats, no watches, badges, or even a snazzy umbrella.

Way back, I had a couple of bike t-shirts and a Land Rover one too, that I wore around the house and garden, but generally not when out or socialising.

My mate used to have a Mitsubishi/Ralliart branded jacket (to complement his Evo 8) which was pretty unsubtle, (and certainly didn't seem to net him any more girlfriends. laugh)

Another mate once said that he refused to pay extra for an item of clothing that visibly advertised and promoted any corporation.

As a matter of fact, I can't remember the last time I saw anyone wearing a proud proclamation of their motoring passion; however, someone must be buying all these Ferrari shirts and paraphernalia.

What about you - do you have a favourite item of branded clothing and get the chance to wear it? Or, do you think it's all a bit crass and tasteless?

My BIL is a right plank. Recently bought an F Pace 2.0 D, stuck R badges on it & wears Jaguar jackets & caps. Jesus Christ it’s cringey.

Just makes me think of Alan Partridge at the funeral in his Castrol GTX bomber jacket.

I regularly see quite a few people dressed head to toe in branded Red Bull F1 team clothing, including RB blue & red Puma trainers, around here. But 'here' is MK near to the RB F1 team HQ so I'm going out on a safe limb to say they all work there.

I read this and think, yep - uncool. If I met your BIL I'd probably think he's trying too hard.

Whereas, I read this and think,

Wow, that's cool! If I met you socially without the car, I'd just think 'enthusiast', and probably pester you to death with questions.

I have a Ford RS Cosworth hat from the very early 90s that I got at Croft at one of the visits with my dad.

I don’t ever wear it but I do still have it.

I have a Land Rover hat…like this one, not actual photo.
It comes out rarely on the odd rainy day country walk.
Makes you feel a bit Australian.

Related but not to the OP’s request
We have a full English bone china tea set in white with discrete Mercedes-Benz star branding
Mrs C found it in an antique shop. That gets regular use.

Have some Goodwood things too…T Shirts, Overalls etc

We also have a Maserati umbrella, it’s dark blue and the branding is very subtle, a matt varnish in the same colour.

I bought an Orange Arrows hat at an F1 race many years ago. (It just seemed to be what you did).

Fortunately it never fitted my large bonce.

I was given a very nice Ferrari jacket when I bought an F355 - never wore it once while I owned the car.

Three years ago, I bought a rather nice Aston Martin Racing jacket while at LeMans. I wore it occasionally, right up until I bought a V8 Vantage and now I can’t wear it…

I was at Brands Hatch once on a Friday and there were lots of middle aged guys all wearing jackets covered in motor sports branded sew on patches. It looked like they all bought them from some of the clothing shops and stalls.

It seemed to be the "motor sport" uniform and looked rather tragic.

Funny how auto branded clothing getting a bad press here but I suspect most folks have one or two other branded stuff in wardrobe. I've got a Yankees baseball cap, Redrow fleece (wife used to work there and its good quality), Ovenclean umbrella....the list goes on.
