Where are the poppies?
Discussion
Have seen all the newsreaders and telly presenters wearing their poppies but haven't seen any in the shops. Went to three different shops the other day, none.
Admittedly I'm not out and about as much as I used to be but they used to be everywhere. It's remembrance Day tomorrow and I still haven't got one. Am gonna go out and have another look today, wish me luck.

Sainsbury's usually have a table near the front of the store selling poppies.
Walking through the town centre on Thursday I was amazed that I only saw about two other people wearing poppies.
My Sainsburys has them too, manned most of the time, but later in the evening there will be a box of the paper ones next to a donation bucket, which is very trusting! I guess the security and staff keep an eye on it.Walking through the town centre on Thursday I was amazed that I only saw about two other people wearing poppies.
In previous years my local Santander had donation boxes and poppy boxes on the counter when I went in but haven't been in this year so don't know if they are doing it still.

I normally wear the previous years poppy but donate each year to any collector I see who is elderly, has a moustache and wearing a blazer, tie and beret. Them’s the rules.
Same here, I bought one of the plastic reflective ones on a carabiner a couple of years ago so I just chuck a few quid in the box each year now. Although last year it was a young lad and he couldn't understand why I wasn't taking a poppy if I'd put money in
No poppies at our local supermarket unusually, but they were walking through a London bound train last week so I donated then. Annoyingly my usual poppy is broken, made from a brass shell found on a field in Ypres, the clasp stuck on and I snapped the pin off the back trying to get it off. Am waiting on Araldite to dry to see if it's fixed it.
I felt terrible yesterday as with my head buried in work, I unintentionally let 11am pass me by, and I didn’t, for the first time in adulthood, purchase a poppy. I kept meaning to but I’ve been so busy recently that I just forgot. Probably to do with, as mentioned, there didn’t seem to be any about to remind me to buy one.
How long before this tradition is eventually dropped? I mean it will happen eventually, I think this year in particular there were much fewer poppies and interest about it. Kids in school forced to be in silence have no idea or interest in why they are doing it. I don’t see it carrying on for much longer.
