I had a nice leisurely walk into town... a couple of miles.
As I merrily stroll along, I try and straight line my route, which does involve crossing the he road a few times.
I wonder how much actual distance & time I am saving.
Sad I know... but it keeps me entertained.

Yep, I also do this.
Also the odd slipstream and overtake!

I presume you also provoke a bit of trolley oversteer doing the weekly shop as well?

Just leave earlier… then you can be as sloppy as you like

You've got to have a bit of lean into sharp turns, and also a lifesaver check before overtaking or changing direction. Anything else is merely amateur bimbling.

We have a three wheeled push chair, satisfying hitting fallen berries, puddles etc with the centre wheel, and how close I can get the rear wheel to things without clipping it

Other interesting things are getting three different tyre marks left when it’s rained and you hit dryer tarmac

Long story short, don’t have kids

I've been known to do a few donuts with shopping trolley when bored. And the bobsleigh start on a long straight.

You can still buy one...it’s not compulsory to have anybody to put in it.

I always do a life-saver before changing lane or pulling out to overtake.

biglaugh Full wets today.
( Unless you’ve got those trainers with actual recycled racing rubber on the soles).

Use gmap-pedometer to plot your exact route and it will tell you how far you walked.

You're not alone. I've checked how much difference the distance is on my fitness app when cutting corners as I do the same routes often enough to compare. Over a 5K or 10K it doesn't amount to very much but can be the difference between whether I actually hit 5K or 10K. When out running with my wife she'll cut along the grass at corners while I follow the path around though which I always find amusing. The day I can't catch up is probably the day I'll find it less amusing and cut those corners too.

Have also done the running and jump on thing with shopping trolleys in a busy supermarket. I'd find someone weird if they haven't at least been tempted to.

Rev matching on a down shift, but only when home, and alone, for reasons...

Totally this. It's actually essential for the annual Le Mans trip, a Carrefour trolley full of pissy lager simply won't turn without sufficient encouragement.

scratchchin That conjures up an exciting image, but how do you push off with your arms when you're sat in the trolley? confused

Or do you mean dog-sleigh?
We've all done that, I'm sure! bowtie
