Does anyone have great dreams where they win the lottery or an F1 race?
Or are they similar to mine and a mish mash of childhood or work memories all jumbled up into quite not making sense but never 100% pleasant.
I realise psychologically dreams are the unwinding of experiences in real life but it would be nice occasionally to have one out of the box that I could enjoy.
I'm a person who very rarely remembers their dreams, although as I've got older I think I have increasingly vivid/intense ones as I am more frequently waking up feeling like I've just been on a rollercoaster or watched a particularly emotionally intense film - I get the 'aftershock' but not the experience!
Over Christmas I suffered with the seasonal lurgy, which included a feverish spell. I tucked myself up in bed one chilly afternoon and slept for a couple of hours...in which time I had a dream which, in its own internal timeline, saw me undertake an entire life and career spanning several decades and when I woke up I felt genuinely disorientated - temporally and spatially - for a minute or so while I 'recalibrated' my mind and pinned down where (and when) I was. Very odd.
When I was about 18 I had a dream (this is very sad in the 'nerd!' sense...) that I'd managed to buy a Leyland Princess 2 2200HLS in Jade Green from the local classifieds. It was in really good condition but had some minor mechanical problem that meant it didn't run, which I'd already managed to identify before agreeing the purchase for a bargain price and then trailered it home behind my Land Rover. As I awoke my mind filled with a sense of excitement "great, today I can quickly get the Princess running - it's an easy fix!" until I was swamped by reality and I realised I didn't own a green Leyland Princess.

I had a dream the other week where I was at the optician getting my eyes checked (obviously) but the optician was Jacob Rees Mogg. Made me laugh anyway.
The one dream I had that I genuinely thought had some meaning was when I took my head off and looked at the top of it. I was about 30 and I think I was probably a bit stressed about baldness. Though the odd thing is though, that I've never actually felt particularly concerned about that.
