Weekday hobbies. What do you get up to?
Discussion
I have plenty of stuff to keep me busy during the weekend, particularly during the better weather months, (car events, fishing, marshalling, mountain biking, etc)
However, with this new hybrid working everyone seems to be adopting, the whole social side of work has disappeared, not helped by the fact my social skills are crap.
I feel the need for a new hobby that I can do during the week, to try and expand my social circle.
Problem is the only idea I can come up with is to try snooker, but that will be me renting a table and knocking a few balls around, not really going to expand my social circle. But I can’t come up with anything else. What do others do?
I’m based in PE10 if that makes a difference

I don't regard snooker as a hobby or darts as a sport. However, with this new hybrid working everyone seems to be adopting, the whole social side of work has disappeared, not helped by the fact my social skills are crap.

Salsa dancing is often done in the evenings and is very social. The weekends are usually kept to one side for social dances.
If you are a single male you will have fun as the M:F ratio is quite low.
It will take you 2-3 years to get up to social standard though if you only practice once a week but that said once you are beyond beginner (6 months) you will find it easy to get going with any beginner too.
Another option is shooting, the vast majority of clubs offer week day shoots.

I used to have loads of hobbies, now I have a 2 year old and chasing her around the house until we both fall asleep at 8pm is about as fun as it gets.
I'm a classically trained pianist, restore classic motorcycles, MTB when the weather is better, used to play a lot of snooker (it's actually quite a sociable game if you are a regular at a club). I used to enjoy reading but rarely get the time anymore.
My wife doesn't have many hobbies which can sometimes make it difficult for her to understand just how important they can be for your mental well-being. The flip side is that before we met I was a bachelor who had all the time in the world to do whatever I wanted. There has to be a balance.

You could also try dogging ( as a spectator) and meet many like minded people. Cheap too.

The comment about snooker is interesting, I wouldn’t have thought that. My wife is the same, she is quite happy with a box set of a book. I need something more

Evening classes - there is a wealth of choice.
In the past I have done welding, electronics, tai chi, yoga, spanish, chinese and keyboard playing. You get to meet a broad cross section of people and I have made some good friends.
Funnily enough, I did start a plumbing course just before Christmas and we go back to that tonight. In the past I have done welding, electronics, tai chi, yoga, spanish, chinese and keyboard playing. You get to meet a broad cross section of people and I have made some good friends.

For clarity only you think you are funny.

Yep...clay shooting is very sociable and week days are perfect (busy, but not too busy). I shoot a fair bit, mainly in the week rather than at weekends. Main downside is that whilst it's not necessarily ruinously expensive, it's certainly not cheap. Is this near you? https://www.grimsthorpeshootingground.co.uk/
Archery is another similar option; our local club allows shooting 365 days a week and there's always someone on the field shooting. Some week-long competitions too (https://www.gwas.org.uk/gwas-tournaments/dunster-archery-week/) and it's generally a very friendly sport (whether shooting longbow, recurve or compound) and cheaper than shotgunning.
