Talk to me about reporting a buyer on eBay. Has anyone had any experience with it?

My Blobby? Now you're being silly. I only sell to discerning customers, and my inventory is limited to Mr Bounce, Mr Sneeze and Mr Topsy Turvy.

That's what I wondered. But has anyone tried reporting a badly-behaved buyer?

I don't want to give too many details for obvious reasons. However, I will say that if you sell on eBay, I recommend blocking a buyer called v_putin.

Ebay is very much skewed to the buyer, it can be a ballache as ebay/PayPal sit on your funds for a few days, keep it in a suspense account, ready to reimburse the buyer in case your item is "defective", regardless of no returns policy on items.

Sold a kilt to what I thought was a regular buyer in Scotland, who turned out to be a reseller / kiltmaker keen to critique construction of the garment from its hem, pleats, type of wool etc. (I was just selling the damn thing to make a few quid)... he claimed it was not "authentic" and started a dispute, ebay sided with him (Buyer Protection), he had to post it back, and I had to refund him. To add insult to injury Ebay made a few bob in fees, despite the fact I didn't sell it grumpy Blocked buyer.

You can Report Buyer, but they may "counter sue" with reasons to justify why they wont send funds, or are unhappy with item. Ebay generally side with them.

Later sold the kilt after re listing it, the next buyer was happy with the item (for Burns Night). wink

With ebay, you get out what you Putin getmecoat

Lots of experience.

What do you need to know.

Reporting is simple. Click on the item and select "report buyer".

Had one over the weekend.
Selling a collection only item.
Potential buyer sent a low ball offer, which was declined.
A few messages back and forth and eventually agreed on a price.
Potential buyer made the offer for the agreed price through the proper ebay offer section.
Before accepting I messaged to confirm they knew it was collection only and where I lived. Replied yes they were OK with that.
Accepted the bid through ebay and then within 30 mins messages from them wanting to reduce the price.
Told them to FO, reported them to ebay and cancelled the sale.
Not heard anything back from ebay and don't expect to.
