Hi, I'm after a big favour from someone willing to get me out of a bit of a spot.
The issue is in Hereford.

I would do this myself but 250miles and 6hrs travel make it a bit of a bind!!

I need a parcel picked up and re-directed.
It is a record player so not big or heavy.

Long story short:
Royal Mail collected and labeled 3 parcels from me.
The postie stuck the wrong labels on all the parcels!!
Royal Mail won't (can't) do anything about this, legal stuff about not being able to redirect or open addressed post.
2 parcels have been redirected by the (incorrect) recipients to the correct destinations. All good.

I sent a replacement book to the 3rd person who although acknowledges receiving the record player (instead of the book he ordered, which I have replaced) now refuses to communicate with me after telling me that it wasn't really his problem.
The record player is apparently still in the original packaging.

I would, if it was closer, knock on his door and ask for the record player. I could then send it on to the correct recipient.

Anyone in Hereford fancy knocking on someones door for me biggrin

If you do, PM me for more info.
Thanks, Chris.

If it's collected by a PHer what are you asking them to do with it next?

You could try one of the courier firms who will both collect from the "wrong" recipient and then deliver to the "right" one.

It would be collected from the PHer's address by Royal Mail (paid for by me) It can be left in a "safe place." .
You don't have to be in.

The chap who has the player isn't cooperating and there is little chance of him handing it over to a courier.
I've already tried for 2 weeks to arrange this but he's basically told me, as I've said, it's not his problem.
There is also a chance he won't hand it over to anyone else but then it becomes theft, It's a bit of a grey area as to whether this is then a criminal or civil action.smile

So basically you want a powerfully built type to knock on his door and dominate him? Is this correct?

Preferably, yes.

You have to hope that the person currently in possession of the record player doesn't know what colour the boathouse in Hereford is or you might struggle to dominate the front door...

Sadly not living in Hereford. Maybe try the Arrse website, it's an unofficial army site.
You might even get a reply from one of 'Them'

There won't be any Problem, he's just being an arse. The book he bought was a cookbook, for his mum.
This is just his little power trip.

The whole episode is unbelievable really.

Thanks for the offer, as if by magic and after 18 days of silence, "Ed" deigned to send me a reply last night.
PH influence or perhaps the mention of the boat house...

Ah ok that's fine, sorry I was a bit ratty, it's just that I didn't check my messages post book arrival and so had no idea where the turntable came from! I was actually in the process of writing a letter to the return address. Wednesday is fine for me, if it's royal mail then I know roughly what time they do the rounds, so will make myself available. Hope you are well
Ed

No, that's the reply I eventually had from Ed yesterday...

Just bringing, hopefully, some closure to the topic...
