For those with the LG C2 TV & Magic Remote - advice pls…
Discussion
A few questions regarding the LG C2 series and the current Magic Remote, if I may..
The Magic Remote has no play, pause, FF or rewind buttons. It seems a strange omission.
Is it possible to pause, rewind and FF live programs (BBC1, ITV, etc) on the LG C2 with a suitably formatted USB powered HDD plugged in to the back of the TV and, if so, how do you do it with the remote?
How many clicks to turn on subtitles?
When watching catch-up apps such as iPlayer or streaming services such as Amazon Prime or Netflix how do you pause, rewind and FF?
I know it’s a great TV but I really think I might prefer a more traditional remote such as Panasonic supply.
Thanks.

Dad? Stop embarrassing your children.
Do what every child on the planet does. Hit all the buttons, it’s the only way to be sure what they do.
But there will be a pause and rewind button.
Best decision we ever made was having a remote each but every once in a while we have to get the original tv remote out due to it being the only way to adjust some settings.

Oh, well that’s OK then….Does anybody have something a little more constructive?
I spend what feels like half my life explaining remote controls to family members so apologies for the sarcasm.
Your magic remote will have a pause button. You might have to use the switch source button (it’ll be near the top) before it works on the source you’re viewing. If it doesn’t you bought the wrong one but I suspect it does.
I think the OP means the LG magic remote rather than a generic universal remote.
I upgraded to a 77inch C2 oled from what was the top 65inch back in 2019. TV is better but the remote is plastic not metal, and the play, FFW etc have disappeared. A step backwards in that respect.
Edit: the round button with the scroll wheel functions as rewind etc, and the scroll wheel click pauses and plays. It doesn't work with sky though, just the inbuilt apps.

Does it work on live tv programs assuming you have a suitable HDD and ‘TimeShift’ (or whatever LG call it) activated?
