You know the one. The trolley is out of control. You are standing at a set of points. If you switch the points, the bus will hit and kill one person. If you do nothing, it will hit and kill a group of people.

Anyone else thoroughly confused, or is it just me?

I've seen a version of this where you know the person standing on the line and not know the group and vice versa. makes you think

There are a few variations. A relative/friend in either group. Hitler in the group, etc.

Main thing is to make sure someone is filming the carnage on their phone (in landscape).

Aren't you supposed to shout at everyone & tell them to get off the bloody tracks . . . oh I suppose they are all deaf as well for this scenario?

i've seen this scenario before with an out of control Asda trolley making it's way toward unsuspecting shoppers. What didn't help was the child riding on the side of the trolley, probably not helping it's maneuverability.

Select all images of trolleys to prove you're not a robot. Did you just fail?

I really don't believe the semantics are the key take away in the ethical dilemma.
