Ideas of self entitlement and self importance mainly (IMO)
Well since those are amongst the specific character traits that these slang terms were invented to encapsulate, by definition, I'd say your opinion is spot on. OP might as well have asked, 'Cats and dogs. Why do they all wag their tails so much?'

I have heard the term "Karen" to denote a lady who complains either excessively or in an unwarranted manner.
However I have never heard "Kevin" in a similar context.
Please could you provide the context for the use of "Kevin", preferably with citations so that we may fully understand your question.

Kevin is applied to those who identify as male and display the same annoying character traits as a Karen. It's not a difficult concept. However I have never heard "Kevin" in a similar context.

Why are these people so salty.
I have my own theories.... totally not backed up by science or evidence or anything like that!I think they have been around for a long time, but we just didnt know. In a world where everyone has an opinion, a smartphone and a need to make sure everyone else agrees with them, we have ended up in a world where stress levels are higher and it just triggers some people.
Is it because we can record them now? Probably. Is it because the world has been super stressed around pretty much everything for the last few years? Yep. Do these people watch too much 'news TV' and get angry about stuff that doesnt bother them? Oh hell yes!
My personal belief is a lot of these people watch way too much Fox News and just need to turn the TV off, have a nice cup of tea and relax. Do you really need to get angry about something that just doesnt affect you? And they seem to be of a certain age too....

.I’ve a Karen in the family. Her names actually Karen too which adds to the amusement.
She watches Fox.
To be honest she’s also one of the nicest people you’ll meet when she’s not on a rant and one of the first I’d trust to sort a problem. The always on mentality can be a problem in today’s world but the personality trait that it comes from is not all bad. There’s no science in my view either, just a theory.

True, but I must admit I've never met a Kevin that was like a Karen.
I've always found Kevins to be on the wimpier end of the scale.
Keith...
Keiths are pricks.
Agreed! Kevin's are usually salt of the earth blokes, and usually stoners, the ones I grew up with anyway, definitely just want a quiet easy life.I've always found Kevins to be on the wimpier end of the scale.

Every Keith I know has been a prick.

My real name’s not Kieth by the way, no dog in that fight, but I was positive I could find something derogatory about Garys within a second’s search. No disrespect intended, just a bit of fun.
