Hi,

I was at a family dinner today and the following photo sparked much debate but little info or facts.

For context this is my dad on holiday, I'm guessing in the mid 90's. Being your typical frugal scotsman I assume he's pointing at the outrageous fuel prices. All my mum could tell me was "probably up north somewhere"

So PH do your best. Date, location, vehicles in the background please?

I think Landy, Renault 25, Subaru?

Four star went around 2000 iirc and I think was about that price when it went.

Eta can’t help with location, I’m afraid.

1999/2000 according to this site.

1994 you wouldn’t have paid anywhere near that for a litre.

When I say 'up north' I'm meaning scotland. Probably Oban, Fort William, Skye area.

My thinking is the price of fuel - in central scotland - must have been 60ish for him to so aghast at the price being 70+
