Took a trip to ireland last Tuesday
I carry an old phone for Waze use
The bad news is all my apps are still on it! ( esp the banks!!!)

The bag it was in never left the car except when i was on the way home via Cork Airport

This leaves three locations where it could have fallen out

In the Car
At the Airport ( possibly when they did a dep search of the camera bag at security)
On the plane

Apart from checking these three locations to see if it was handed in

Do i need to panic about the 'financial apps?

So far there has not been any weird happenings

Anyone been in this situation and what was the outcome?

Dave.

What phone, apple or android?

Any security set up on the phone (pin/fingerprint/etc)?

Find My installed? (Installed by default I think on most phones).

Assume the important apps are protected behind a pin, etc, so won't be instantly accessible by anyone other than yourself (unless the pin was 0000 or similar.

Can you not log onto your bank account at home and change the passwords? if not i'd have already rung the bank and told them so they could cancel your present banking app and re-issue the necessary.

Dave
possible two points in my favour and one against!!
Yep phone is a samsung galaxy s9 and is pin protected
Second it was quickly running out of power

The against is it is now dead, if not found.
Good news it had life 360
Bad news Mrs Fox keeps getting messages that i should turn the Battery saver off which i did, but the app said i was still at home!!

Smint

will get onto the bank tomorrow....added to the Airport, car hire, airline calls

I dont even know the number!! The sim was a pay monthly lebara?* but would be still active if a call was made/received within 6 months, it was being held so my two grandkids could get any football tickets ( Spurs are 99% paperless and all tickets go into a wallet.

I really wanted a sim that was a really pay as you go top up when needed no monthly contract, ( Mrs Fox had a Virgin one years ago) where you just buy 15.00 credit as and when but they are now likr rocking horse crap, I feel that paying 5.00 pm for a phone just to sit there is a bit silly!!!

Thanks for the updates

OP, have a look at Tesco Mobile. I have a PAYG SIM for backup purposes that I just add £10 once in a blue moon when it runs low. It may have changed as I've had it for some time.

Presumably you have to unlock the phone and then log into the banking app with a password / your face

I’d say you’ll be fine

Anything on it that identifies you and if it is switched on is anything linked to that phone number or can any notifications come up and be read on the lock screen without unlocking the phone with your PIN?

No phone 'autolocks' and has to have pin to do any actions. iirc the only thing that you can do without unlocking is to answer a call

All I'd be doing is thinking if your PIN is something daft (1234 etc.) and someone does guess it and unlock it is there anything they can do or access as you?

Access your email for example to send "Forgot Password" type emails.

If so change your email password and enable 2FA if you haven't already done so.

That might be me being overly cautious though.

Chances are if anyone finds it and doesn't hand it in worst case it gets factory reset and someone's got themselves a free phone.

You'll be able to make a 999 call, and - if you've set it up - view emergency details, which would typically be your name, blood group/allergies/etc, and emergency contacts.

Well worth setting up IMO.
