Time travel - when, where and why

Just finished reading H.G. Wells’ ‘The Time Machine’.

Just wondered whether if time travel was possible (don’t want the thread to turn into possibilities or otherwise, hence me posting in the lounge rather than the science forum), where would you go, what date, and why?

It's a bit like waiting for a coronary bypass operation.

Constantly being sent back to the start of a long queue for the next investigative procedure.

I just wish I could go back to next year when all this will still be something to look forward to in retrospect.
