I keep seeing ratchet straps on the road, though I've never actually found the thing that they were holding in place. I found a complete box set of a series of Futurama, if I'd picked it up when I first walked past it, it would have been immaculate, now the packaging is a bit battered. I found someone's driving license the other week, and I've found quite a few credit or bank cards.

Set of car keys. I spent nearly an hour in tbe surrounding residential street trying to find the Peugeot they fitted. Whe I did, I knocked the door outside which the car was parked and asked the lady if it was her car. "It's my son's, but he's out" so I handed her the keys and left. A couple of days later, I found myself in the same street and there was a note on the car windscreen saying "If you are the man who found my car keys, you saved me a lot of hassle. Thank you." smile

Many years ago on a quiet country lane I came across a massive box of nappies right in the middle of the road, there must have been 500 in the box, god knows who uses them in that quantity.

A kitten, at 5am with no obvious sign of where it came from despite shouting and looking for open doors for 10 minutes. Can't believe people were just driving around it.

Left it on the doorstep of an old people's nursing home, rang the doorbell and legged it hehe

I was walking through the Northern Quarter in Manchester, stood at a junction/ corner waiting for traffic to clear. A flat bed lorry turned the corner and shed its load of new brass fittings, taps etc. The lorry didn't stop, I did what I could to clear the road pushing the fittings into the gutter, must admit the I filled my briefcase so full that the handle broke!

Ànother time I was staying at a hotel in north Norfolk at Brancaster. Went for a walk along the road, behind a hedge there were boxes for kitchen appliances, kettles, toasters and so on, must have been about 30 of them, all new and different makes. I guessed that there had been a robbery so didn't want to touch it, went back to the hotel and called the rozzers.

Driving licence of a young bloke who's address was on the same road as me.

Was covered in coke.

Took it back to his address. When his mum answered the door I quickly gave it a good wipe on the back of my jeans to clean it up.

On a night out in Edinburgh just before Christmas a couple of years ago, I found a huge pile of cable ties on the pavement which I stuffed into my wife's handbag - she wasn't best pleased!
Found a flat blade screwdriver at a junction - almost fell off my motorbike picking it up.

I found a really nice Stanley knife, blade extended, in the middle of the road about ten years ago. I still use it. smile

My wife seems to have a tallent for finding umbrellas. We have about 5 and only bought one of them. The one I generally use was in the middle on the road on the Swiss-French border.

Early one morning on the A610 Eastwood bypass I found a woman laying across two lanes. I parked in the middle & persuaded her that it wasn't a good plan.
