Someone on our local Facebook group posts as "Anonymous Member". His/her posts seem fairly innocuous so far but I don't trust anyone who doesn't put their name to posts. I don't understand why people engage with her/him
Somewhat ironic posting on a forum. What's your name then?

Someone on my local group posted a poll as to whether anonymous posts should or should not be allowed. Made me smile as they posted as "anonymous member".

Anonymously post this please.Edited by kevsmev on Thursday 20th July 16:34

It's an atrocious feature from Facebook. Either the whole site should be all real personas, or all pseudonyms. Replying to an anonymous poster with your real identity is an unjustifiable asymmetry.
That's really well put and far more articulate than the way I expressed my opinionWho cares.
The only reason people originally put their real names and profile pictures is to brag about how great their life is (usually to old school mates) and post multiple pictures of their kids with forced smiles or their new car/holiday etc etc and to put "Love you hun" or "u ok?" to other shallow idiots' posts.
It's the same now but now we have TikTok and Insta which are 10000% worse for narcissistic behaviour.
