Being of a sceptical nature I am wondering if this ....

https://www.mstangct.com/products/8-cylinder-full-...

is a genuine article or a scam ?
One of our Grandchildren is into model cars and this would be a good birthday present for him but buying from a Facebook page offers very little in security of not being a scam victim. The general MSTANGCT web site appears to be a general selling facility, a bit like Amazon, not the manufacturer's own page.
So has anyone actually used these people and if so did they deliver ?
Many thanks
Brian.

Yes, I've just looked at some of the Scam Review/Scam aware websites and it's definitely a no/no.
Ah well, good idea while it lasted.
Cheers
Brian.

I've seen a few of these adverts on Facebook recently, one was for very high end shoes. I tried to order two pairs but I couldn't get PayPal to work on the site so I guess it must have been a scam. Clever buggers, but Facebook should stop them, but a bit like gambling and Equity Release Facebook loves the revenue and sod the punter.

If it's from an ad on Facebook, then isn't is safe to assume it's a scam, or some Chinese knock-off, pump & dump site.

If it's a good idea, then investigate genuine versions.

2 seconds on the Google machine gives you this:

The actual kit does exist (same 'Teching' name as the one on the website), and Adam Savage (of Mythbusters) actually built one...and is in a couple of the photos used on the 'dodgy' website.

BUT, whether you'll get that version, or anything at all is what would worry me.

I have seen the REAL Teching V8 kit for between £500-700... here and here for example.

Facebook is FULL of scams.

It is actually VERY difficult for a genuine business to operate on there because a) people are completely paranoid about buying anything and b) people don't buy anything as they assume everything is a scam, especially if your prices are good.

I have my own personal mobile number listed on my website and 95% of calls are people enquiring about whether or not the business is legitimate; having to explain to people that it is, gets very tiring/ bordering on offensive.

I charge £4 next day delivery to anywhere in the UK, but I have people driving 200 mile round trips to pick up items "just to make sure".

I get plenty of dodgy 'property millionaire' courses, FB really couldn't care less about their customers.

In my 'feed' last couple of weeks - a guy smashing up London ULEZ and a uk mail order combat knuckleduster that punches through bricks! (connecting people?)

TikTok seems to have the edge for orchestrating riots though, that inner city disenfranchised youth element so easily manipulated with the right call sign from their chinese handlers.

Behind the mask of social media lies lots of vested interests bent on subverting uk society with dark money from opaque foreign sources.

My limit for 'social media' is forums these days

Have dabbled in most things, but just stay away from them all now as they're just full of junk. Even if you manage to filter out all the sponsored crap, you then get the same crap 'pushed' via your connections, so you end up blocking those too.

Of course, I still may use some of them in an 'anonymous' read-only manner to research something, but won't log-in to contribute.
