Safe(!) for your car parking at the ends of rhe tube lines

Basically park up, jump out onto the tube then onwards to a central hotel hassle free?


Thinking north or west (or even south) as we are currently in Dorking.


Any tips?

Osterley tube station - plenty of station parking space at weekends, last time I was there also street parking. No idea what it would be like on a weekday.
Piccadilly line into the centre of town.

It does sound like the least hassle way would be to get the train from Dorking into London, any reason why not?

The tube is naff compared to a nice overground service into one of the central stations.

One option from Dorking is to drive up the A217 to Morden tube station. I’ve done it several times as I prefer to drive and take the underground rather than wait for a long train journey and then walk to the tube. There is a roof top car park next to the Sainsbury’s at Morden station, but there were building works going on last time I went up there and it was closed, so I’m not sure if that option is still there. If it is, it’s very convenient for the tube station.

Richmond is a good shout with it having an NCP right next to the station.

I'd recommend getting the mainline trains into Waterloo rather than the District Line!!
